I'm going to touch my Chin then rub my Shin.

Well whats happened this week. She's getting better at standing everyday. One day she couldn't support her weight and then the next day, BAM! she could hold the weight for a few seconds. Its progressed like that over the last week. She really enjoys it. Brings a smile to her face everytime.

She also really loves being flown around the house headfirst, and a bit of freefall is good too. Her giggle is infectious. Her and Sam have the same giggle. In the bath tonight as well I think she really discovered that she can make noises while breathing in as well as out. So now, when she's being chirpy, its non stop, wall to wall, quadrophonic noisery.

Sitting up is where its at.

I seem to miss a lot being at work. The last few weeks it seems I come home and there's always something different about her from when I left in the morning. It makes me want to never go to work again. But somebody around here has to pretend to wear the pants when he knows he totally doesn't and whatever Mum says goes. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I can see the changes first hand. I might see her for about 20 minutes in the morning and then maybe an hour before she goes down of a night after I get home from work. Even then, I'll sometimes notice she is doing something easily when last night she was really struggling with it. Like trying to pull my nose off for example. I hope she realises soon that its mine and that I'm attached to it. Rather attached.

So the latest thing is sitting up. One day she couldn't. The next day that's all she wants to do. It makes her so happy too. I think it's probably because it means she can vomit alot further now. She seems to enjoy the challenge, which is good I guess. so TGIF tomorrow, hopefully I dont miss too much of my Darling Daughter.

yeah she's cute!

We Love Aunty Kim

When Aunty Kim came down for a visit it was all fun and walking. They walked everywhere! Kim took lots of photos of Architecture in Docklands but neglected the trees! The trees Kim! The trees! It was windy and cold out that weekend so Char Char had to get all rugged up. She looks like something out of The Village.  The outfit worked, because she came back pretty much the same as when she left.

Come back soon Kimmy!

PS. Hi Shea!

Since you've been gone..

I've gotten much better at holding myself up. I love sitting up straight, though sometimes I fall over face first. I used to have a real cute talking voice. Kinda like Wilbur from Charlottes Web, but now It's more like a husky chipmunk singing Dolly Parton covers. I still spew a lot, ofcourse, which means I like changing my outfits often. I like drinking bathwater. I don't particularly like Tummy Time. It's torture looking cute while doing that, but I still pull it off.

I've Been slack!

Ahh almost 2 months, some of you may have worried that nothing has been happening in the life of Charlie Webber. Well let me set you straight. It's been real busy, so over the next few days I'll try and catch you up.

Heres a random picture of the little one.

BEWARE! You will be Afraid!

Roll up! Roll up! Witness a Modern Marvel, a Feisty and Ferocious Female and undoubtedly A Naughty Nipple Nasty Nappy Ninja. Those with a weak constitution are urged to look away or stick to your knitting! Be alarmed at her Devious Duplicity! Be Alert as to her Cunning Cuteness! Just, we beg of you, be Careful!

Yes ladies and Gentlemen, she looks gentle enough, some might even call her cute, but don't be fooled. Witness now as an innocent life is threatened by her Bestial Savagery!

Unaware, the trusting, naive doll allows itself to sit perilously close to the tremulous Maw of the Quivering Beast!

Like terrible, unwatchable Lightning she strikes! Too fast for the human eye to see, we've harnessed the power of a Spaniards Hips on his Wedding Night into a special lense able to capture this Macabre Massacre!

Look away now Women. Men, Cover the eyes of your young ones lest they be forever scarred by the Horrible Humanity of what we see and become Beatnicks, lost to you forever.

Thankfully, it is over quickly for the doll. Its gentle life lost before it knew what danger lay in waiting. Its felty black eyes never to open 'pon lifes harsh horrors again.

Take from this what you can Gentle Viewer, be happy in what you have and love but keep the knowledge of what you've seen here, deep, deep inside your heart and use its lesson to protect those you love....

FROM THE CHARANOSAURUS!

What does this have to do with Kevin Bacon?

Nothing, not really, but the first title that came to mind was something to do with Footloose. Besides that, anyone who is anybody in this world knows that everything is linked to K-Bake-On one way or another. This post is for David, A good friend of ours who bought Charlie a Beautiful little pair of booties. We've had this photo for a little while but have been incredibly terrible in not posting it up, cause it is damn cute.

Thanks David, for the shoes!

Back, To the Future!

Wow,

It's been positively ages since my last update. I ofcourse offer my unreserved appology and in some small way of recompense I can offer a free 6 kg Novelty tub of Talcum Powder to the reader who sends me the greatest tale of woe that has arisen from not seeing fresh pictures of Charlie. Entrys are to be in Essay format and there is a 1500 word limit. A $7 administration fee is also applicable to all entrys.

Now that that's out of the way.. We're both feeling the strain. Charlie isnt eating properly still. On good days she eats about 3/4's of what she should be eating. She should be spurting along in growth spasms right now but instead progress is very slow. She's rejected the breast entirely now and we have had to make the switch to bottles and formula after a very hard couple of weeks trying to stick with Breast Milk. Its been hell on Sam.

The bottle and formula had immediate possitive effects on Charlie. Feeding is now much less traumatic for everyone, but still far from perfect. She's still in obvious pain and discomfort whilst feeding, the poor thing, but its seems to have atleast become fairly predictable from day to day. She's on medication which is supposed to kick in after around 3 weeks, so we're hoping that will make things easier on her.

We want to see some big weight gains! The good news is that when she does get to have a good feed, she is just the most adorable little button of love ever. What am I saying, she's always adorable and way ahead of the curve developmentayl wise, but it must be hard for her, always being hungry but not able to eat. All her body wants to do is grow but it's a tough ask at the moment. I think you need a new picture to remind you how cute she is!

Check out the Smile

She's been smiling so much lately. I realised that we haven't put any good smiling pictures up on the net yet. So time to fix that! I've compiled a list of the top 10 things that she now smiles at:

  1. Getting Kissed
  2. Boobs
  3. Nappy changes
  4. Toys
  5. Her Hands
  6. Her Mum
  7. Her Dad
  8. Wiggely Woo (as performed by Play School and Sam)
  9. Flowers
  10. Lights
I've also been working real hard at getting her to stick her tongue out. She seems to like me doing it so much that I thought the kid would appreciate being able to do it herself. She's made so much progress over the last few days that she gets it out past the lips on atleast 80% of attempts. You can see it takes a toll on her though. The look of concentration on her face as she tries to poke it out is amazing.

Sam also said tonight that her ears are starting to poke out like mine did when i was little. Another wingnut? Too early to tell perhaps, I sure can't see anything.

Anyways, on the with the photos.

Love,

Damien and Sam.

We're back! With Bolivian stuff

Sorry to Mum and everyone else. Our Camera went on the fritz and we only just now have been able to procure a suitable replacement. Theres been lots of ups and downs lately, but our little girl, when she's not crying, she's smilin!

We got a package in the mail the other day from Tim and Mel. Love you both guys! So I thought I'd lead the return blog off with your present first.

It suits her!

A New Beginning

So, I thought it was time to make the switch to something a little more sophisticated than the template from iweb. The program itself is fine and the editing etc quite excellent but uploading to anything other than a .mac account was as clunky as hell.

So here we go. New site, and first entry.

Charlie didn't sleep at all yesterday (Sunday). Well that's a lie. She slept about 2 hours from 5:30am onwards. She's been very grumpy and spent about 5 or 6 hours crying. It was probably her worst day yet. It seems the digestive problems she is having really flaired up and started causing her a lot of pain. When she cried she would go all stiff armed, and her legs would jerk about and she would arch her back. The Poor little thing would scream her lungs out until she either burped or farted.

All day of this, and by 1:30am we decided to take her to the hospital to get her checked out. We drove up to the Royal Childrens and thankfully there wasnt much of a wait at that time of night, We got taken straight into a room and the Nurses came and checked on us straight away. She was weighed, (4.99kg) poked and prodded. Apart from everyone telling us she is very beautiful, there wasn't much else anyone could add. The Doctor says physically she appears in perfect order and just for us to continue on her prescribed meds.

So we got home at 2:30 or 3 and straight to bed. Charlie slept thank the Gods (assorted) and now I'm off to work.
